UK-based Zimbabwean gospel artist Annatoria and Takesure Zamar have both announced their withdrawal from the upcoming Maverick City and Kirk Franklin’s Kingdom World Tour in Zimbabwe.
The World Tour is scheduled for August 12, 2024 and is to take place at the Glamis Arena.
Annatoria, who was anticipated to participate in a multi-country tour across Africa, including stops in South Africa, Zambia, and Kenya, announced her withdrawal from the tour on her social media platforms.
Through her Instagram account, Annatoria said, “Hey family I’m so sorry to announce, your home girl won’t be on the Kingdom Tour as planned.
“I was looking forward to meeting so many of you and I hope I will one day. But I’m so sorry, and I love you all! God bless.”
However, she did not disclose the reasons behind her decision to step away from the scheduled events.
Takesure Zamar, who was originally slated to perform in a supporting role alongside The Unveiled, Joyful Praise Choir, and Tembalami, cited unforeseen circumstances as the reason for his withdrawal from the scheduled event.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Takesure Zamar Ncube and the Worship Addicts will no longer participate in the upcoming Maverick City tour to Zimbabwe as earlier advertised. We thank you for your continued support. God bless you,” he posted.
It remains uncertain whether Takesure Zamar’s choice to withdraw from the event is in any way connected to the allegations that Franklin’s recent performances, including a widely criticized duet with Will Smith, have been deemed “ungodly” or inappropriate. The reasons behind Zamar and Annatoria’s decision are not explicitly stated.
