All eyes are on Tapiwa Makarawu and Makanakaishe Charamba as they prepare to run the Men’s 200m semi-finals tonight at the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.
The duo had a successful appearance in the heats on Monday night, with both sprinters advancing to the next round.
Charamba placed second in heat three with a time of 20.27 seconds in a close race won by Botswana’s speedster Tebogo Letsile, who finished in 20.10 seconds.
In heat five, Makarawu also secured second place with a timing of 20.07 seconds, ensuring his spot alongside Charamba in the semi-finals.

Speaking to the media after the race, Charamba expressed his excitement and a laid-back approach: “The feeling is great, I did not have large expectations but just to enjoy myself. I’m just going to relax and get back to the drawing board and see my coach and hear what he thinks.”
Makarawu attributed his success to the hard work he and his coach put in: “It’s a good one, we worked hard for it. My coach and I had to work on my weaknesses.”
