Afro-pop fusion artist Tamy Moyo has just dropped visuals for her song ‘Bvunza’ from her ‘Bold’ album.
This is her second visualizer from the album as she has dropped ‘Kwatoenda.’
Tamy spoke on her recently dropped album ‘Bold’ on ‘On The Spot’ with Dj Ollah 7 in which she described it as her journey of coming into her own self.
“The name bold came from a journey of discovering who I am and what I like for me.It was also a statement of innovation, sometimes as young people, as a female, you might feel like a misfit as you are not invited to certain spaces so it was about creating our own tables,” said Tamy.
Tamy revealed that the creative process took over a year with five producers both well-known and upcoming.
“It was a long time coming, just over one year of putting hours of work it was back and forth with production, the different producers and production houses and meeting directors trying to explain your vision.
“It was my management knocking o n different doors to say we want to use this space, can you avail this for Tamy, it was a hectic process but it was a worthy process as I worked with many different producers from your well-known to your upcoming who were as just brilliant,” said the afro-fusion artist.
Tamy also mentioned that the reason she gave a chance to upcoming producers was because she herself had chances availed to her in her musical journey.
“I am a product of so many people that gave me a chance so I believe in giving people a chance although I don’t believe in being entitled as I believe in giving opportunity to those deserving ,” said Tamy.
When asked what her favourite song is from the new album by Dj Ollah, the songstress said it was ‘Kwatoenda’ as the message of the song resonates with her.
“I love Kwatoenda because the message is very very close to home I wrote that song at a point in my life where I felt like in as much as a lot of doors were opening, some were closing.
Some of the closed doors I really needed them to open at that time but life has a way of working out and it happened for a reason.
“This album is a bold statement to say I am not going to take all those closed doors on me as anything personal,” said Tamy.
