Reigning Miss Universe 2023, Nicaraguan Sheynnis Palacios recently visited Zimbabwe as part of her African tour.

Her visit followed a successful stop in Kenya.

Palacios received a warm welcome in Zimbabwe from the reigning Miss Universe Zimbabwe, Sakhilezie Dube, and Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, wife of Vice President General (Retired) Constantino Chiwenga, along with other members of the Miss Universe Zimbabwe organization and representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Her tour began in Kenya, where she spent four memorable days. During her stay, Palacios graced the Miss Universe Kenya pageant, crowning this year’s winner, Irene Mukii. She also visited the renowned Giraffe Centre, established by The African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya).

In Zimbabwe, Palacios aimed to promote tourism.

She joined Miss Universe Zimbabwe at a borehole opening ceremony in the Epworth community. The event marked a significant step toward providing clean and accessible water for all Zimbabweans.

“Today was a success in Epworth with the installation of boreholes unveiled by @sheynnispalacios_of and MUZ Chairperson @minie_baloyi alongside current MUZ @sakky_zie. This serves as a positive impact on the community and another step towards clean and accessible water for all Zimbabweans,” read a caption on Instagram by Miss Universe Zimbabwe.

Palacios also immersed herself in Zimbabwean culture by participating in a traditional dance performance during her visit to Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. She described the experience as “wonderful” and shared her excitement on Instagram.

Sheynnis Palacios, who was crowned Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador last year, will pass on her title to her successor at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico on November 16.
