A community-based organisation in Gwanda is uplifting and supporting persons with disabilities in achieving self-sufficiency.
Nkomwa Foundation Trust founded by Mr Pick Nkomwa in 2020 , is a disability led community-based organisation operating in Gwanda, Matebeleland South.
In an interview with this publication, Nkomwa said, “Our mission is to Uplift and Support Person with Disabilities (PWD’s), promoting their rights, and helping them achieve their aims for Self-sufficiency and Sustainability in the Future.”
To back his organisation’s mission Nkomwa says the organization is facilitating school attendance eleven high school, 7 of who have hearing impairment. Three more of the organization’s benefactors are at Jiros Jiri Vocational center.
“Apart from this- we raise awareness to communities about deaf people, culture and bridge the communication gap through sign language training to communities,” added Nkomwa
