The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has intensified traffic enforcement duties in Harare’s Central Business District (CBD) through the deployment of 10 state-of-the-art motorcycles.

In a post on its official platforms, the police said the new motorbikes will play a key role in bringing order to the capital’s congested roads, targeting traffic chaos, lawlessness, and reckless conduct by some motorists.

“The ZRP urges motorists to exercise caution on the roads and desist from reckless driving. Errant drivers, whether private or public service, will face the full wrath of the law,” the statement read.

The police also encouraged members of the public to report any incidents of dangerous driving so that appropriate action can be taken.

Harare has long struggled with traffic congestion and unruly behavior by both private motorists and public transport operators, particularly during peak hours. Authorities believe the introduction of motorcycle patrols will enhance visibility, improve enforcement efficiency, and ensure safer road use across the city.
