The Government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, has directed the Harare City Council to allocate thirty (30) residential stands in designated low-density suburbs.

This directive is part of a broader, countrywide housing scheme targeting Members of Parliament (MPs), aimed at improving the welfare of legislators and enhancing their capacity to effectively discharge their national duties. The housing initiative recognises the critical role of Parliament in national governance and development, and seeks to ensure that MPs are adequately accommodated.

The allocation in Harare complements similar directives being implemented in other local authorities across the country. It is guided by the Government’s National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), which emphasises orderly urban settlement, equitable land distribution, and sustainable housing development.

Government assures the public that all processes relating to the allocation will be carried out in accordance with existing laws and regulations to guarantee transparency, fairness, and accountability. The Ministry will, in due course, provide further updates on the implementation of this scheme.
