
The Government of Zimbabwe has released a total of ZW$21,007,557,000 to registered political parties under the Political Parties (Finance) Act [Chapter 2:11], according to the latest Government Gazette.
The funds were distributed proportionally based on the share of votes received in the last general election.
- ZANU PF, which secured 69.3% of the total vote, received ZW$14,561,385,557.
- CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), which polled 29.6% of the vote, was allocated ZW$6,446,171,443.
The announcement was made by Hon. Ziyambi Ziyambi, Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, who emphasized that only political parties with at least 5% of the national vote are eligible for public financing.
The allocation is intended to strengthen democratic processes by supporting parties represented in Parliament.
